Sights around the venue
The Emmental
has much more to offer than holes in good cheese. The whole valley is a paradise for cycling and hiking fans and there are beautiful paths for our vintage cars. Lush green hilly landscapes can be found everywhere. The valley includes the catchment areas of the two rivers "Emme" and "Ilfis" as well as the Hohgant Mountains up to Burgdorf. The largest towns are Langnau and Sumiswald.
Delicacies such as the artfully braided "Anke-Züpfe" (butter braid), the sweet "Merangge mit Nidle" (meringues with cream) and many different types of cheese, gourmets will get their money's worth here.
In Affoltern i.E. you will find one of the most famous show cheese dairies, a visit is definitely worth it.

The "Luege" is very close by and in good weather you can see 17 cantons. From here you have a wide view of the Napf area. The bowl is 1406 m above sea level. M. the highest peak of the Napfbergland in the Emmental Alps of Switzerland.

The Kambly Experience Factory is located in Trubschaen. There are wonderful pastries here with a factory outlet. Small souvenirs to take home, of course tried beforehand in the store.

You will also find countless small museums in the Emmental, such as the Chüechlihus in Langnau. Would that be a goal for you? You can find more museums at:

Signau is definitely one of the most beautiful villages in the Emmental. It is also worth a visit, as is the nearby lookout tower in the Gauchernwald (Chuderhüsiturm) near Röthenbach. The almost 40 meter high tower, to be climbed over 195 steps, offers a breathtaking view from the Jura Mountains to the Alps. Recommended in the early morning hours or at sunset. Visibility is clearest at these times of the day.

Trachselwald Castle is right next to our event location. Built by barons in the 12th and 13th centuries, the castle towers high above the Emmental village of Trachselwald. The castle courtyard and the castle garden are open to the public.

As the last excursion destination in the Emmental, I would like to introduce you to the Mutzbach Falls. At 14 meters high, it is the highest waterfall in the Emmental. Easy to reach with a 30-minute hike, partly on the Amiet-Hesse-Weg, from the Riedtwil car park via a pleasant path. On this tour to the waterfall, the Mutzbach Cave with its watercourse is somewhat hidden. (good shoes are recommended here).

Vacations - Switzerland one outdoor playground.
Good shoes and weatherproof clothing, as well as sunscreen recommended, on the mountains, depending
on the altitude, there is still snow and it is cold. It is equally cold in caves and glacier gorges.
I have lived in Switzerland for almost 20 years and despite many trips with the Opel GT Club Switzerland,
I have not seen everything by far. The many railroads, whether cogwheel, cable car or Capriobahn, or on
foot, there are so many ways to climb the peaks and take in the beautiful nature. From breathtaking lakes
with Mediterranean climate to rugged barren rocky landscapes here everything is close together.
The passes are also very beautiful, but for one or the other pleasure the car must remain standing.
On the following link you will find all the passes of Switzerland

Panoramic road
A way from the Emmental leads over the panorama road of the Glaubenbielenpass. At the end of the road
there are many ways to continue. Let's start with the
Canton of Bern - Bernese Oberland
In the Bernese Oberland you will find the lakes of Brienz and Thun. On one side of Lake Thun are the
t. Beatus Caves which can be visited. On the other side of the lake near Spiez is the Reichenbach Falls
(with the crash site of Sherlok Holmes).

Between the lakes of Thun and Brienz you will find Interlaken. Thun and Interlaken are very beautiful towns
and worth a break. At Brinz you can take a historic steam train to the Brienzer Rothorn, or a boat trip to
Giessbach, from there take the funicular to the waterfalls. From Interlaken you go in the direction of
Lauterbrunn to Grindelwald, here it is worthwhile for mountain enthusiasts to make a longer stop.
Eiger, Mönch and Jungfrau can be reached directly with the Eiger Express. For train enthusiasts there
is also a Zahradbahn.
If you want to visit the Jungfraujoch with a view of the Aletgletscher (with 22 KM length the largest glacier
in the Alps) should reserve tickets in advance. This alone is already a day trip. From Lauterbrunn helicopters
fly around the mountains. But Grindelwald has even more to offer, such as the Grindelwaldfirst.

In the region there are several glacier gorges to visit, such as the Grindelwald glacier, or near Meiringen the
Aare gorge, which was formed by the Aare glacier. As well as above Meringen the Rosenlaui glacier gorge.
If you are good on foot (and there is no fog) you can have a look at the glacier a bit higher up.

From Spiez (at the lake of Thun) you go towards Kandersteg. Alone on this stretch there are again countless
possibilities. First the Niesen, with its longest funicular in the world. The Blausee, a nice excursion outside
the vacation season.
From here to Kandersteg, the connection with the car train to Goppenstein, directly to the
Canton of Valais
In Valais is worth a trip to the village center of Bellwald, this consists of typical dwellings, warehouses,
Stellscheunen and barns. A heap settlements characteristic in the Valais.
